Longitudinal Aging Study Links
Follow the link below for a listing of longitudinal studies that emphasize psychological outcomes based on the review by Schaie, K. W., & Hofer, S. M. (2001). Longitudinal Studies of Aging. In J. E. Birren & K. W. Schaie (Eds.), Handbook of the psychology of aging (pp. 53-77). San Diego: Academic Press. This initial list was updated in Hofer, S. M., & Piccinin, A. M. (2007). Longitudinal studies. In J. E. Birren (Ed.), Encyclopedia of gerontology (2nd Edition). Oxford: Elsevier Ltd, and further expanded here.
Additional studies were identified in the course of a systematic review of longitudinal aging studies conducted by the IALSA network. New studies identified have been added to the list, and links for these additions will be provided as they are ascertained.
A similar list is also maintained by the National Institute on Aging, and may have some links not yet available here: NIA List
